Free Pride Workout in Pittsburgh, Saturday June 13 | Pittsburgh FIT

Coming Alive: Come Move With Us at Our Free Pride Workout, June 13

There is a moment that we get to watch happen here, and it never gets old.

Someone walks in for the first time braced for the worst. Shoulders a little high. Eyes doing that quick sweep of the room. They have decided, somewhere along the way, that fitness spaces are not really for them, and they are ready to be proven right.

And then a few weeks pass. And one day you catch them mid set, laughing at something a coach said, completely at ease, fully in their body, not scanning the room anymore. They are not holding their breath. They came up for air, and now they are breathing.

That is the part of Jodi's story that gives this whole series its name. After the coming to, after the coming out, there is the part she calls coming alive. And it is the best part, because it is the part you get to live in.

What "coming alive" actually feels like

For our founder, Jodi Butler, coming alive was the feeling of walking into a space she built and being met with love and kindness every single day. She described it as taking a breath of fresh air after spending way too long at the bottom of a pool. Once you have felt the difference, you cannot unfeel it.

We see versions of that all the time, and almost none of them are about the workout itself. The workout is the doorway. What people are really chasing, whether they could name it on day one or not, is the feeling of being fully themselves in a room full of people who are glad they are there.

That feeling has a name around here. We call it community, but that word gets thrown around so much it has gone a little soft. What we mean is specific. We mean people who know your name and notice when you are missing. People who cheer for your first pull-up and also remember to ask how your week went. People who make showing up something you look forward to instead of something you negotiate with yourself about.

You cannot build that alone in a basement with a follow-along video. You build it with other humans, in a room, over time. And you are welcome in ours.

Come find out for yourself, on June 13

Here is the easy, no-pressure way to feel it.

We are hosting a free Pride workout on Saturday, June 13. It is open to the whole LGBTQ+ community and to every ally who wants to move alongside us. You do not need to be a member. You do not need to be fit, experienced, or anything in particular. You just need to show up.

We are running three sessions, at 8 AM, 9 AM, and 10 AM, so you can pick the start time that fits your Saturday. The workout is scalable to any level, which is our way of saying we will meet you exactly where you are, the same way we always do. Come solo and make some new friends. Come with your crew. Bring the friend who has been "meaning to start" for two years. This is the lowest-stakes possible way to walk through the door.

Find the details and let us know you are coming at PittsburghFIT.com/Go.

That is the whole ask. No commitment, no pitch waiting for you at the door. Just a good morning, good people, and the chance to feel what we have been describing for three posts now.

And if you want to keep going

A free workout is a great first breath. Some people want a second one. So here is a quick, honest picture of how we help people once they decide they want more, with zero pressure to be one of them.

For a lot of folks, group fitness is the on-ramp. It is the easiest place to land, build a little momentum, and start feeling part of something. It is rarely the final destination, though, and that is by design. As people figure out what they actually want, whether that is real strength, more energy through perimenopause, fat loss that does not wreck their relationship with food, or simply feeling capable in their own life again, we have other ways to coach them there.

Some people move into semi-private training, where you get a personalized program in a small-group setting. Some go all in with one-on-one personal training. Plenty of people pair their training with nutrition coaching, because what you do outside the gym is where a lot of the magic actually happens. And for our higher-achieving clients who want their health to fit into a genuinely full life, we do lifestyle design work that looks at the whole picture, not just the hour you spend with us.

The point is not the menu. The point is that there is a real path here for whoever you are and whatever you are after, and a coach who will help you find it without making you feel like a project.

You already know what holding your breath feels like

We have spent this whole series talking about the cost of being someone you are not, the courage it takes to stop, and the life that opens up on the other side. That arc is Jodi's, and it is the reason this gym exists. But it does not have to stay her story.

June 13 is a Saturday morning. It is a few free hours, a workout you can absolutely handle, and a room full of people who are rooting for you before they even know your name. If any part of this series made you take a deeper breath than usual, take that as your sign.

Come move with us. Come as you are. We will be there with open arms, the way we have been since day one.
