Too many times during class, do we as coaches, hear the words
My Bad ‘something’ is acting up”
Whether it be a back, a knee, a shoulder, a finger, etc. The problem is we do not hear this at the beginning of the class or during the warmup but mid workout.
We do not want to cause you more pain. We WANT to fix your shit, not create more.
At Pittsburgh FIT, all our coaches are experts on modifications and can make the workout hurt just as bad with the modifications, preserve the intended stimulus, and get just as good of results with other movements that don’t cause you pain.
Think of it this way if you do the workout as prescribed, and it has snatches in it, and you have a bum shoulder, you can
A: Cause more damage and possibly keep you from working out for extended periods of time that hurts your workout goals worse than modifying 1 move.
B: Cause you to protect that part of your body causing the rest of your body to compensate.
This eventually leads to more injuries and also won’t allow you to push to your full potential in each workout.
Check your ego at the door, tell us what hurts. We can fix you up, and get you back to 110% faster than you pushing through the pain.
